Despite the latest fashion trends and the popularity of trendy interiors, classic ceilings are also increasingly popular as a reception in the decoration of residential and office space. Of course, there are countless tricks and professional secrets of how to make a stretch ceiling in a classic style immaculately smooth and perfectly smooth.
The indisputable advantage of the classic style in the design of ceiling surfaces is its flawless combination with almost any direction used in the design.
The classic plasterboard ceiling is the most popular ceiling finish option, even when it is far from a classic direction in interior design. Ceilings in the classical style, made on the basis of modern materials, as a rule, are erected from gypsum plasterboards (GCR) from domestic and foreign manufacturers. Often beautiful decorative elements are used to emphasize the severity, restraint and conciseness of the recreated interior.
At the discretion of the designer or the owner of the premises the following additions can be made:
- items of stucco. To have such additions is quite acceptable not only around the perimeter of the ceiling of the room, but also around the central ceiling chandelier. Stuccoing perfectly copes with the task of highlighting the source of light, to give the room solemnity, pomp and special charm;
- painting of individual parts paints "under gold" or "under silver." For several seasons, the effect of “aged bronze” has not lost its relevance, both in the decoration and in the decor elements;
- mounting additional ceiling plinth or composition of several types of plinths.
Importantly, modern technologies used in the creation of building and finishing materials can significantly reduce the weight of both the entire structure as a whole and its individual elements in particular. Ceiling skirting polyurethane foam is surprisingly light, but at the same time durable and flexible. Such qualitative characteristics of the products allow using them not only around the perimeter of rectangular rooms, but also to create rounded shapes when framing niches, chandeliers or ceiling sconces in a classic interior or when designing a ceiling in a bedroom.
Gypsum stucco - decorative technique, quite often found in the interior not only for the living room, but also for the classic bedroom. Wherever such decorative trifles are used, it is important to remember the correctness of fastening and reliability of the connecting mechanisms. Of particular importance is the issue of mounting and fixing when it comes to suspended multi-level ceilings.
Features multi-level ceiling structures
Difficult classical plasterboard constructions are complex only at first glance. Even a non-professional in the field of construction will be able to implement such an idea in arranging his apartment or house, regardless of the area of a particular room. It is enough to study the step-by-step algorithm for the construction of a two-level ceiling design and the steps for preparing materials (blanks) for upcoming repairs.
The classic design of ceilings, where several levels are located at a certain distance from each other, is quite popular in the decoration of both residential and public spaces. This proves the unconditional versatility of the finishing technique. For example, the gypsum ceiling in the hall, consisting of two levels, and possibly more, is effectively complemented by light sources. Here can be selected as spotlights of different power and orientation, dispersed throughout the ceiling surface, and a central chandelier, which fits well not only in the decor of the ceiling itself, but also complements the decoration of the whole room or room.
Using drywall ensures a great result. The main reasons for choosing such a building material are:
- getting a perfectly smooth and even surface;
- the ability to give the ceiling any color, shade, or even combine several painting techniques and color combinations;
- hide destructions, seams and joints between the floor slabs, as well as disguise all communication connections, elements and devices;
- refusal of long dirty works on plastering and grouting.
With the technique of building drywall ceilings, even the most daring ideas and creative projects become real. The simple alignment of the ceiling has long been recognized as an impractical and inexpedient measure during rent. Funds for this are spent, as a rule, a lot, and the result is sometimes not what was expected. Considering the approximate costs of each type of work, many craftsmen come to the conclusion that it is much more profitable to spend money on the purchase of plasterboard sheets and install the ceiling structure than to carry out a full range of work on leveling and painting.
Stretch ceiling in the living room can be made in several versions and color solutions, and the texture of the material, and a possible combination of forms, but in addition to combining the ceiling PVC canvas with each other, combinations of classic gypsum panels with modern PVC ceilings are also welcomed. There are practically no restrictions in this decision. Considering the latest trends in the decoration of living rooms, such receptions in suspended ceiling structures are often found in the décor of the bedroom, in the kitchen, in the office and in the guest room.
Speaking of the kitchen in a classic style, it is worth noting that the ceiling in two levels allows you to achieve the following:
- unobtrusive zoning of space;
- correct light accents;
- hide all unnecessary elements and communications;
- the possibility of complementing other decorative elements: niches, internal lighting. In the gypsum ceiling panels perfectly mounted base racks for dishes and household appliances.
As well as plasterboard ceilings in the hall, kitchen ceiling structures consist of two tiers. If a gypsum material is combined with a PVC sheet, then it is permissible to immediately proceed to the fastening of the gypsum plasterboard. In this case, it is fixed directly to the floor slabs. PVC-cloth is pre-measured and cut out in accordance with the perimeter and the area of the repaired premises. You can mount it already at the stage of assembling the gypsum box.
In that case, if the surface of the ceilings does not have clearly expressed flaws (defects), then all work on leveling and puttying is performed on the sheets before assembly into the box and, accordingly, of its attachment to the ceiling. After processing and giving the surface of the plaster sheets the desired color, texture and letting it dry, you can fix all the prepared billet on the set profile.
